A day for remembering and a day to remember

A day for remembering and a day to remember

Sunday 25 September saw over 100 Pailton residents and guests come together to remember the 15 young men from Pailton whose names are inscribed on our War Memorial, that was first unveiled in September 1922. This was an uplifting and moving event, with a short service led by Reverend Faulkner and the laying of 15 wreaths, These young men will never be forgotten. But perhaps the highlight of the afternoon was the truly spectacular Spitfire flypast. Events then moved to the village hall where the Parish Council presented a Freedom of the Parish Scroll to Philip Morris-Jones for his many, many years of service to the village. The cakes and pastries, all baked by villagers, was a fitting end to this memorial event. The Parish Council would like to offer its sincere thanks to everyone who helped make this event possible.
